haven't written here in ages so i thought i would hit it up and fill you in on tidbits of my life. am currently working on math homework. we somehow ended up getting homework and quizzes the first week back form spring break. bleck. went to madison, wi last week it was incredibly cold, but i got to see my crazy girlfriend, so it was worth it to face the weather :) this is us in Chicago. i tried to get the tall buildings in the background but it didn't work out so well. while i was in mad city i met a bunch of her family (not as scary as i expected) and friends, saw mattias for a few hours, and ate a lot of cheese. actually not really. sorry for the lack of capitalization.. am too lazy. been listening to quite a bit of sinch lately.. and for the most part life is pretty normal.. except that it rained for three days straight in la (quite odd) but now it's clearing up. i've been considering letting carol give me a haircut. any opinions on that? she's all for it of course. oh my, my door is open. good thing i'm not doing my homework like i normally do. (naked) actually, i even have a hoodie on.. it's quite a cool day. i'm a bit hungry. perhaps i'll have some cereal with half-frozen milk? yes. that does sound quite appetizing doesn't it? tomorrow's friday! woogoo. ok. my homework break is over. i'm in-n-out.

It's Sunday afternoon and no one's around right now, so I decided I'd hit this thing up.  People have been asking for an update, so here goes.

I was one of the first to move in on my floor, because I changed my move-in time.  So I was pretty much all alone on my floor the first night, was kind've weird.  My dad left that night, so I was living on my own for the first time.  I have to say... the first week of living in the dorms... it didn't feel real.  It didn't feel like this was my home for the next year, it just seemed like a vacation.  That's what everyone else felt like too.  But now, it is home, at least for me.  Everyone here is from California, so they all have their real homes elsewhere around the state.  I'm an oddity here, coming from Singapore.  It's fun though

I'm not homesick either.  I'm having a great time here.. I've got a lot of cool people on my floor, and we all get along really well.  The first few weeks our RAs (resident assistants) organized floor dinners so we could get to know each other.  Yeah... we're still doing floor dinners.  We get a big group of 10+ people every night to go eat dinner.. it's awesome.  There are a bunch of guitarists on the floor too, and they're all really good, so I can learn from them.  And we've all adopted a student on the floor too, it's kinda fun.  Oh.. and I was elected president of our floor government.  So I'm going to be organizing stuff for the floor to do throughout the year... pretty cool.

Dorm life is probably bad for my health though.  I stay up so late every night...  I stay up past midnight on every weekday.  Last Tuesday I stayed up till 4:40 am.  Martin (one of my roommates) woke up 20 minutes later to go to crew practice.  Last night I stayed up till 6:40.  I watched the sun come up.  It's hard to go to sleep, even if you're sleepy.

Classes aren't too bad.  I only have three this quarter, so I have two fifty minute lectures on Mon, Wed and Fri, and one seventy five minute lecture on Tues and Thurs.  I skip my discussions every week because my TAs suck.  So yeah, it's kind of weird having almost no classes, but the work makes up for it.  I've already turned in a paper worth 20% of my English grade, completed a midterm worth 20% of my Chem grade, and I have a Math midterm this Thursday.  I can't wait till I'm done with English.  I hate writing papers.  Although my math homework this week was insanely long.  By the time I'd finished, I had SEVEN PAGES of problems.  Enough to drive any man insane.

Sorry I was rambling.

This post is getting kind of long and only a few people will read it anyways, so I'll try to wrap it up.

I like my roommates.  I like my campus.  I like my professors.  I like my friends.  I like the food.  I like the weather.  I like American football.  I'm doing great.  I miss everyone that I've left behind, but I'm settling in well.

This weekend was good sports-wise.  UCLA won (undefeated now in 7 games) 51-28 against Oregon State U, Blackburn beat Birmingham 2-0, Bolton beat West Brom 2-0 and the Los Angeles Galaxy beat the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1.

Anyways I'm done now.

lata.
